Did you know that, in the state of Nevada, there are hundreds of different things you can do? If you drive through this state from Arizona, or if you are coming in through Utah, you might think that it is nothing but desolate terrain. There are many cities that are in areas that are quite dry, and also devoid of trees. However, there are parts of the state that are exceptional, ones that will actually surprise you which will be quite deviant from your initial perceptions.
What Most People Think Of This State
As mentioned before, there seems to be a common perception that there is absolutely nothing to do in this state except gamble. They may also think it is designed for people that may have liked silver mining at some point in time, which is actually what many people would do. It has grown quite a bit since that time, and these are places that you might want to consider going.
Lake Tahoe On The Nevada Side
If you are able to go through Carson City, and you had up the hill, you will come to a place called Lake Tahoe. Although this is associated primarily with the state of California, there is a side on this side of the state. You will definitely see the difference because those on the Nevada side have casinos, and the other side does not. This is one of the few places that you can go in this state that is not only high in altitude but will give you access to beautiful forests, and the beautiful Lake, which is one of the deepest in the world.
The Burning Man
This is an event that occurs in the northern part of the state you have probably heard of it before. It is in the fabled Black Rock Desert, past Pyramid Lake, and it has been going on since the 1980s. There is actually a giant man, called The Man, that is burned. It is created to stand about 40 feet high. It attracts people from all different nationalities and cultures and is considered very risqué, something that is not unlike what you will typically find in this state anyway.
There are other places you can go which most people do which is the Las Vegas Strip, Hoover Dam, and many other destinations. If you have not been to there before, definitely consider visiting during the times when you can go to these events, or if you are traveling up to the lake, make sure it is in the spring, summer or fall.
